This sport combines the two disciplines of Cross-Country Skiing & Ski Jumping. It’s a very demanding competition and is very exciting. Unfortunately, it is currently only contested by men.
There are two individual events: normal hill + 10km cross-country or large hill + 10km cross-country. The ski jumping takes place first and the winner of that competition leads the cross-country section’s start. The others start behind him, with a 4-second delay for each point in the ski jump competition. There is also a team event, where 4 athletes make up a team. They all ski jump first. The team with the most ski-jump points start first in the cross-country skiing, with a 1.33-second delay for each point. The race format is a relay with each skier covering a 5km course.
